The Kids Charity Ute Muster was here! 
Funding for medical research is under threat and protests are underway. At least high profile advocates speak up for the cause. Research and mental health services are very worthy causes.

Health departments have a newish home in Hunter Street.  Advocates for better mental health care are trying their best to get a share of the action.  High tech services must use up the budget instead of funding for mental health staff and broad support services.
Newcastle has several new mental health facilities.

Next Monday is the Australia Day holiday and we are reminded by the authorities to celebrate, to join in activities and to make the day significant, to take a break.
By and large, Anglos take up partying and carrying on, for example, recently, the cricket fans were no way multicultural and there, I was no longer a minority.
All the same, in a general way to the small extent I know of, I like a multicultural community quite well.
PS I have been inaccurate above, because cricket fans are, to a small extent, a multicultural group.

Signs and Wonders. Here is believed to be a new sign with new wording. Kiss and Ride Area!
All measures are tried so as to prevent road accidents from occuring outside our schools.

The school year ends next week. At least this society keeps some individuality in that way.
I vote for a turn around with the local Christmas celebrated in June, Easter in September and all the rest!
